Mail In Module Cloning and Recovery
Selected module services can be completed without shipping the vehicle. Smart Turn Auto Repair accepts approved cloning, data-transfer and recovery jobs by mail at our Columbia, Maryland shop.
Start With the Module Labels
Send your VIN, symptoms and clear pictures of the original module label. For cloning, include the proposed replacement label too. Tell us whether either module has been opened, programmed or repaired. We confirm compatibility, required components, price and expected turnaround before you send anything.
Prepare Your Package
[STEP 1] Wait for Confirmation
Wait for our written service confirmation and the shipping instructions for your job.
[STEP 2] Identify the Modules
Identify the original and replacement modules separately. Put the reference number and your contact information inside the box.
[STEP 3] Protect the Components
Use protective antistatic packaging and enough cushioning to keep the units from moving. Protect exposed pins and connectors.
[STEP 4] Send Only What's Requested
Send only the components requested. Do not include keys or unrelated security modules unless they are specifically required for the approved job.
Assessment and Approved Work
We inspect the received units and assess the data needed for the transfer or recovery. If the original data, donor or damage changes the agreed scope, we contact you before additional work. Any assessment charge and return-shipping arrangement are disclosed with the quote.
Your Return Report
The report states what was transferred or restored, what checks were completed and what remains to be done on the vehicle. Some jobs require coding, relearns, calibration or further diagnosis after installation. Bench checks cannot verify the condition of the vehicle wiring or every installed function.
Shipping and Timing
Turnaround is quoted for the specific job and depends on the module’s condition and the required procedure. Contact us before sending a time-sensitive repair. Return shipping, parts, vehicle installation and any additional setup are identified in the estimate.
